CogniMusica is a Scottish music tuition service helping children across Edinburgh learn an instrument they love. Although our physical studios are in Dundee and Bo'ness, our online programme means Edinburgh families can access the same tutors, the same ABRSM-aligned curriculum, and the same cognitive-science approach - all from home. We also offer home visits across Edinburgh with prior arrangement, including weekday-evening and weekend slots.
About Edinburgh
Edinburgh is a city that takes music seriously, and parents here often have plenty of choice when looking for tutors. What we offer that's different is the integration of music tuition with cognitive science: our founder Justyna Skop-Wach is a PhD researcher in Psychology at the University of Dundee, and that research directly shapes how every lesson is taught. We work with children across Edinburgh - from Leith and Stockbridge to Morningside, Bruntsfield, the New Town, Marchmont, and surrounding areas. Our tutors are bilingual in English and Polish, and all are PVG checked through Disclosure Scotland. Many of our Edinburgh families come to us for our specialist support of neurodivergent learners - including children with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, DLD, and DCD.

How Sessions Work in Edinburgh
For Edinburgh families, lessons are delivered in two ways. Online sessions over video are our most popular option - Edinburgh's broadband is generally excellent and we've found online lessons just as effective as in-person ones, with the bonus of no travel. We also offer home visits across Edinburgh with prior confirmation, subject to tutor availability and travel time. Sessions are 40 minutes (£35 online, £40 at home) for children aged four and above, or 60 minutes (£40 online, £45 at home) for ages eight and above. We offer violin, piano, viola, guitar, electric guitar, and singing, and prepare students for ABRSM graded exams from Initial through Grade 8.
