Online Music Lessons

Personalised tuition delivered over video, anywhere in Scotland and beyond.

CogniMusica delivers online music lessons that work just as well as in-person tuition - without the travel. Whether you're in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, the Highlands, or further afield, your child can have the same one-to-one attention, the same ABRSM-aligned curriculum, and the same cognitive-science approach we bring to every studio lesson.

Why Online Lessons Work

We've been delivering online lessons for several years and have refined our approach for what makes them genuinely effective. A good online lesson isn't a video call with an instrument - it's a properly structured session built around clear video, careful pacing, and real-time feedback.

For many families, online actually works better than in-person: no travel time, flexible scheduling around school and after-school clubs, and lessons that take place in your child's familiar home environment. Children often warm up faster and engage more readily when they're comfortable at home.

What You Need to Get Started

Online lessons require very little setup.

An Instrument

Whatever your child is learning - violin, viola, piano, guitar, electric guitar, or just their voice for singing lessons.

A Device with a Camera

A laptop, tablet, or smartphone - anything with video works. We'll guide you on the best angle for the instrument.

A Reasonable Internet Connection

Any standard home broadband is fine. We use video platforms that work well even on modest connections.

How It Works

Once you sign up, we'll match you with a tutor who suits your child and arrange a regular weekly slot. You'll get a video link before each lesson - no apps to install, no technical setup required.

Sessions are 40 minutes (£35) for children aged four and above, or 60 minutes (£40) for ages eight and above. We follow the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) curriculum and prepare students for ABRSM practical and theory exams from Initial through Grade 8. Your child can also access our specialist support for additional learning needs, including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, DLD, and DCD.

PVG Checked

Every tutor is PVG checked through Disclosure Scotland.
